HIKE TO 30 FOOT TALL COOPER FALLS, HAVE LUNCH, THEN SLOWLY WALK TO THE BASE OF 100 FOOT BUCKHORN FALLS, AT COOPER CANYON IN THE PINES IN THE ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST.

Expect 1 mile of creek bouldering on the route to Buckhorn Falls

DISTANCE: 7 miles

We will return to our cars the same way we came. But backwards. And walking on our hands. (just checking if you've read down this far...)

DIFFICULTY: MODERATE, 1100 feet elevation loss getting there, then 1100 feet elevation gain on the way back

BRING SHOES YOU CAN GET WET!!!

THERE ARE LOTS OF ROCKS TO CLIMB AND MONKEY AROUND UPON!!!!

FOLLOWED BY: early dinner, beer etc at Newcomb's Ranch, followed by optional easy climb of the famous JohnHenge rocks 3 miles north of Newcomb's Ranch for a coupla hours....

WHERE TO MEET?:

Meet at the Buckhorn day use area parking area on the roadside. Look for a big sign that says (duh.....) "BUCKHORN DAY USE PARKING AREA".

PARK IN THE WIDE PAVED AREA ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY JUST BEFORE THIS SIGN (I am assuming that you are coming from L.A.):

A stinky national forest restroom is at the Day Use Area.

IF YOU PARK ALONG THE ROAD, YOU DO NOT NEED A $5 ADVENTURE PASS. IF YOU PARK IN THE DAY USE AREA PARKING LOT NEAR THE RESTROOMS, YOU DO NEED AN ADVENTURE PASS. (If you park with no adventure pass, the fine is $5.....wooooooooooo!)
