Arroyo Seco hike from Devils gate to spillway dam

Details

Join us for a 9-10 mile hike along the Arroyo Seco trail.

This isn't exactly a beginner hike, but if you are looking for a long hike, but one that doesn't have killer elevation gain, this would be a good choice. You'll see a lot of riverside vegetation recovering from the station fire six years ago with dense thickets of alders and sycamores that provide shade in parts. You will see the Angeles Crest highway weaving way above us. Overall, this is a very pleasant, fun hike.

We will hike to a large spillway dam, taking a break at the Gould Mesa campground, where there are picnic tables and outhouses.

Mileage: 9-10

Elevation gain/loss: about 900

Time: About 4 hours

Make sure you have your outdoor essentials: sunscreen, hat, basic first aid, plenty of water (about 2 liters), extra laces, phone, proper footwear, dress for the weather, snacks/lunch.

LEGAL STUFF: by going on this hike, you agree to assume all risks of this hike, and that no one at Meetup including the organizer is responsible for your safety. See the Meetup terms of service especially paragraph 6.2:
