Hike in Kenneth Hahn Park begins at Norman O. Houston Park to save parking fee!
This moderate hike involves approximately six miles and 1,500' gain over sometimes steep terrain. Sturdy hiking boots are recommended. Bring wide brimmed hat and scuscreen. The hike may last a couple of hours.
Explore Kenneth Hahn Park and visit forests planted for the 1984 Olympics, a beautiful meadow where once stood a huge reservoir, a lake and stream, plus a waterfall. learn about the history of the park and the geology. Bring some crackers to feed ducks in the lake.
Please follow these directions carefully because Norman O. Houston Park can ONLY be accessed from north-bound La Brea Blvd. If coming from the 10 Freeway go south on Crenshaw Blvd to Stocker Street and turn right (west) onto Stocker. Turn right (north) at La Brea and make an immediate turn into Houston Park.
You may also go south on La Cienega Blvd to Stocker, then left (east) on Stocker to La Brea, then turn left (north) on La Brea and then turn immediately into Houston Park.
You cannot make a U-turn on La Brea at Stocker!
IF THE PARKING LOT FOR HOUSTON PARK IS FULL, EXIT THE PARK AND PARK ON THE STREETS ADJACENT TO DON LORENZO STREET WHICH IS IMMEDIATELY NORTH OF HOUSTON PARK.
