Topanga Summit to Calabasas Peak

TOPANGA'S SUMMIT TO SUMMIT MOTORWAY TO CALABASAS PEAK

Monday July 25th, 3-7 pm., approximately

Hike is about 8 miles round trip.We will start at elevation 1500 feet and gradually rise up to 2163 feet at the top of Calabasas Peak. Calabasas Peak has lots of pretty rock formations.

We start at Ed Edelman--Topanga Summit park, which was slated until the mid-1990's to be a golf course. Then we will pass thru a recent purchase by the Mountains Conservancy and cross Old Topanga Canyon road. Most of this trail is owned by L.A. County. We then hit the State-owned summit of Calabasas peak, and return by the same route.

BRING: comfortable hiking shoes, plenty of water, a hat, sunscreen, all your troubles in a paper sack....

PARK: along Topanga Canyon Blvd. south of the overlook or in the Top of Topanga Overlook lot. Beware of the annoying and possibly illegal stop sign camera.
