Santa Susana Pass's Stagecoach trail to Corriganville's rocks to the rock house

HIKE THROUGH OLD WEST HISTORY VIA CHATSWORTH'S OLD STAGECOACH TRAIL TO THE OLD CORRIGANVILLE MOVIE RANCH AND UP TO THE ROCK HOUSE CAVE. THEN BACK VIA THE ROCKY PEAK FIRE-ROAD AND THE STAGECOACH TRAIL

DISTANCE: 8 to 10 miles, so we'll be done by 7 pm

DINNER: TO BE DECIDED...

We start at 900 feet, then climb to 1700 feet. Then we drop down to 1100 feet at Corriganville, and climb the 200 feet tall rocks in the park, then drop down to 1100 feet, then we climb up the wildlife corridor trail and pass under the 118 freeway to the Rock House (a big open cave) which is at 2100 feet. Then it's mostly downhill on the way back.

BRING: all the usual stuff: clothes (sorry...), a hat, 3 liters of water, snacks, sunscreen, comfy shoes for some rock climbing. There are drinking fountains and porta-potties in Corriganville, but nowhere else.

DOGS: this is a state park, so I don't think dogs are allowed
