Beginner Hike in Griffith Park

This hike will be fashioned toward those with little hiking experience, but have some degree of fitness. It is not for stone cold newbies who are out of shape. There will be some uphill climbs. If you cannot hike uphill for a little ways, this hike is not for you.

We will go from the Parking Lot #2 (near the Merry Go Round) across to freeway underpass, walk along the LA River north, exit the River, cross the LA Zoo parking lot, and go up a dirt road in the Park that takes us behind the Zoo and around the northern perimter of GP. We will swing around and go down to the Mineral Springs picnic area (there is a Rest Room there) and head back to the cars along the trail from there.

I will bring pics of various birds at the LA River....see how many you can identify

Bring water and hiking shoes....but tennis shoes would work for this one also.

DOGs, Gila Monsters and Armadillos OK on leash
