The Plan:
We will meet at from the Ice trail head we though Ice House Canyon along the creek, then continuing to the saddle for a short break to and to regroup.
Once we regroup we will continue to Cucamonga Peak one of the tallest peaks in the San Gabriels with amazing views off the peak’s nearly-sheer face. After lunch we return via the same trail.
Please note this is a permitted hike so please keep your reservation current so we can insure an accurate count
Special note this #2 hike in the So Cal 6 pack of peaks, and a must do for those hikers looking for some serious training.

Directions and Trail Head:
From the new 210 Freeway extension, driving east: Exit Baseline Road in Claremont. Turn left on Baseline. In one blockturn right onto Padua Avenue. In 1.7 miles turn right onto Mt. Baldy Road (stop sign). After 7.2 miles you pass the AngelesNational Forest Mt. Baldy Visitor Center in Mt. Baldy Village. You can get a Forest Adventure Pass and wilderness permit here. Continue 1.5 miles to the Icehouse Canyon entrance. Turn right and park in the large parking area.
From the new 210 Freeway extension, driving west: In Upland, exit Mountain Ave./Mt. Baldy Exit, Exit 54. Turn right andproceed north on Mountain Ave. Drive 5 miles to Mt. Baldy Road. Turn right (north) and after 5 miles you pass the AngelesNational Forest Mt. Baldy Visitor Center in Mt. Baldy Village. You can get a Forest Adventure Pass and wilderness permit here. Continue 1.5 miles to the Icehouse Canyon entrance. Turn right and park in the large parking area.

PLEASE - Know your limits and abilities. Bring and drink plenty of liquids when hiking. Check weather conditions and dress accordingly and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Dogs, well behaved and picked up after would be fine on this one. Watching out for snakes, ticks, uneven footing, spectacular views, beautiful fauna all while carrying on a conversation with awesome (usually) fellow hikers can be extremely hazardous, rewarding and fun. Tortoises should be left home as they will slow the group down.
