The first part of this hike involves climbing using your hands, although no ropes are required, so shoes with good grip and even climbing gloves would be a good idea.

From the waterfalls, we climb metamorphic rocks (Pelona Schist) up 200 feet to a single-track trail which then leads to Bee Peak via a single track trail through the brush. There is only poison oak in the creek, but wear long pants if you're really bad about avoiding it. Total elevation gain is 1100 feet. We will take our time getting up the rocks as they are like climbing a rock staircase. After reaching the peak, we continue west to a wide jeep trail called the Saugus Del Sur road, and then drop back down to Bouquet canyon Rd. via the Quarry Road, also a wide jeep trail.

This is an exploratory hike because I've only done the Quarry road portion and from the waterfalls to above the cliffs portion, but my aerial photos show a trail leading all the way to the top.

LENGTH: about 6 miles and three hours at least

THEN WE RE-GROUP FOR LUNCH AT BIG MOUTH PIZZA IN AGUA DULCE

AND FOR ANY SURVIVORS THAT WANT TO GO TO VASQUEZ ROCKS FOR SOME MORE FUN, YOU ARE WELCOME TO JOIN IN.
