Beginner hike to EATON CANYON FALLS

Details

Eaton Canyon Falls

http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/8/9/c/event_130814492.jpegHike level: Beginner

Hiking Pace: Slow/Moderate

Distance: 4 miles round trip

Elevation Gain: minimal

It's an easy hike...a little rock scrambling..some creek crossings.

See map by clicking "Eaton Cyn Nature Ctr" at top.

The falls are real falls and right now just like this picture...plenty of water. You can jump in and get fully submerged if you want. The water feels really great in the Summer heat. I tried it today myself (Monday 6/18)

Dog OK on leash

What to bring?...Water, Snacks, Shoes that you don't mind getting wet,

Parking can be a problem because this is a popular hiking spot. If you do not find a parking spot in the big lot, you will have to park up on the street, Altadena Dr. and walk down the driveway to our meeting spot.

After the hike, The Rancho (http://www.yelp.com/biz/rancho-bar-altadena) beckons us....Bloody Marys or whatever. You can order food in. (The Rancho is known to be the place to get the best bloody marys or bloody marias in the southland)
