ROCK EXPLORATION AND SCRAMBLING ON SANDSTONE CLIFFS AND LEDGES AT SAGE RANCH PARK IN THE SIMI HILLS

http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/0/a/4/event_145133412.jpeg

NOT THE USUAL HIKE HERE:

FIRST: we are going EAST of the parking lot to the rocks that overlook the San Fernando Valley and explore for a while. I have not done this before so I cannot predict what we will find, but from the road these rocks look really interesting. THAT IS THE GOAL TODAY...TO FIND MORE THAN JUST THE USUAL ROCKS AND TRAILS THAT EVERYONE ELSE DOES HERE!

NOT FOR THE FAINT AT HEART!

NO ROPES ARE REQUIRED--KIND OF LIKE MY TREKS TO VASQUEZ ROCKS PARK

DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: from Valley Circle Blvd. in the West San Fernando Valley, go uphill 2 miles on Woolsey canyon road and at top of hill, turn right at Sage Ranch sign, and the parking lot is on the left in 1/4 mile.
