Ovarian Cancer Awareness month is in Sept. therefore, we must begin our training now. THIS IS NOT BOOT CAMP TRAINING: The purpose of these hikes will be to condition you into a level of fitness that will leave no doubts or maybe's in your head about completing a 3K to 5K Cancer Walk.

All Cancer survivors and supporters of Cancer Events. Please come out ... I take this seriously for I have 5 sister that are survivors, OK ? Bring water, an extra pair of socks, hiking shoes, trail runners. Walking shoes will work for this hike. Dogs, Brats and Crybabies are OK, yet, NO Minions, Show offs' and NO Speed demons ... this is a Family Type of Hiking environment. We are all equal here.

"The route, destination and pace of the Hike in Griffith Park is to be determined by the Hike Leader." ... in Deeds we trust !

MAP for Parking Lot #2

This will be conditioning Beginner Hike ... Mostly Fire roadsand Flattish terrain. The Hike Level: Novice/ Beginner, maybe a little bit tougher. Hike Duration: 2.5 hours(or a little less). Hike Distance: about 3 miles, more or less. Hike Pace: Slow to slow-Moderate maybe.

This hike will be a conditioning Hike; fashioned toward those with little or no hiking experience, but have some degree of fitness or hiking knowledge .  This may not be for stone cold newbies who are out of shape Yet it is for those who want to start conditioning for better hikes.  This is also a Social Hike and not a Death March, those hikes come in about two weeks OK ? There will be some uphill climbs but mostly flat(flattish) terrain after.  If you cannot hike uphill for a timely period, then this hike is for you because I will be stopping a lot and going slowly if needed and waiting for all. " This hike will be conditioning Hike "

DEFINITIONS: Novice Hikes are more geared toward distance walking, low leveled terrain, with a incline, or two or three.... Beginner Hikes include Distance, inclines of two or more and much more Stopping for rest. Beginner-Intermediate: There will be INCLINES, Two or more Inclines, less resting stops, distance. This would define levels One plus, Two and Three.

My youngest daughter started high school last Tuesday at NHHS, we were nervous and anxious too, with the LAUSD budget cut I was more concerned about the teachers and overcrowded class rooms. My daughter told me about each of her teacher and who is already her favorite. Every parent worry about their child how are they going to face the challenge, will they get good education in the public school, I support our school, teachers and I hope all of our kids will be safe and have fun at their school. I look forward meeting all her teachers and get to know them as well. Does any of you have the same concerns? post your comment.
