Easy Eaton Canyon waterfall.

I did this once when it was a little drizzly, and people had a good time.  So, lets do it again.

This will be approximately a 4 mile hike (2 miles each way) or considered maybe a level 2-3 (?) hike.

This is a perfect trail for those beginners who want to see a waterfall, but don't want to drive 2 hours to see one, and hike an all day trail to do so (although I do recommend that as well).

This is little elevation change at this trail, but there are many stream crossings, so be prepared to cross streams, although all of them have rocks to step on.

Bring water, snacks, good shoes, and just in case and dress for the weather.

Afterwards we can head over to a number of different local establishments in the Pasadena/Altadena area for a late lunch.

I just changed my RSVP to no although I still might try to make it. A friend dropped his dog off last night for me to babysit and while my dog has done this hike before I'm not certain about this new dog's abilities or my ability to cope with both.

4 mile hike with so many people will probably take about 2-3 hours, considering time to stop and play by the falls

      February 9, 2013

    • Ranger B.

Last time, we were back to the cars by two hours. Although it was misty drizzling then, so we didn't stay by the falls long.

Hope it's ok that i bring my dog :)

    January 31, 2013

  • Lee Z.

LaManna did this hike last year when all the news was talking about the dangerous trail to the Eaton Cyn Falls. What they were leaving out was the 3 people who got killed at the Falls were not hiking on the flat and most non dangerous trail, but falling off the steep shear falls when climbing up to have a thrill. We even had a Reporter hike with us asking why were were being so foolish. News people can be real stoopid.

    1 · January 29, 2013

Dogs allowed? Well behaved, excellent hiker on-leash dog (i am a dog trainer, my dog is extremely well-behaved)

    January 21, 2013

    • Estellaleigh F.

I usually bring Clyde my well-behaved muttster. I think the only requirements are the usual socialized, on-leash and pick up after rules. See ya there.
