New Meetup: Friday Night Hike: Michael Emery Trail #365 to Embudito Canyon

Announcing a new Meetup for The Albuquerque Hiking and Outdoor Meetup!

What: Friday Night Hike: Michael Emery Trail #365 to Embudito Canyon

When: Friday, June 11,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Michael Emery Trailhead
Spain Road and High Desert Street
Albuquerque, NM 87111

Time: 6:00pm (please be prompt because we will leave by 6:05pm)
Location: Michael Emery Trail
Directions: Take Spain Rd. East until it dead ends into High Desert Street. Make a right at the stop sign and the trail head parking lot will be on the left hand side.

Who Should Attend: Anyone that has hiked at least four (4) hikes with the group in the past month and is acclimated to elevation above 7,000ft. Note: ABQ is at approximately 5,250 ft (depending on where you live).

Hike Description: We will be hiking for approximately two hours at a moderate pace. Note: Moderate pace is not a stroll. The elevation gain for this hike which starts at 6,240ft will be approximately 750ft, but maybe more if we get higher into the canyon trail. Breaks will be minimal and very short because we are hiking for only two hours.

Dogs are welcomed as long as they are leashed, even when we are in the wilderness area because the trail is narrow and I don't want a fellow hiker knocked into a cactus. Ouch!

Suggested Items to Bring:
1) Water (at least a liter)
2) Hiking Boots or shoes that protect your toes
3) Hat
4) Sunglasses
5) Sunscreen
6) Bug spray (if you are wearing shorts)
