$5.00 a year
Why: 1 year membership with the group
Welcome to the Eastside Hikers Meetup!!
If you enjoy hiking, and are in decent shape, but prefer to stroll along slowly enjoying the views, composing photographs, or stopping to hunt down an elusive Geocache, then you will love this group!
We focus on hikes that have 1000-3500 feet gain, but we sometimes do higher elevation gains for experienced hikers looking for a challenge. If you can do 5 miles on flat ground and not be winded you are ready to attempt a vertical hike of 600-1000 feet as your first hike. We will hike year round and will also do some snowshoeing in the winter months.
If you are a beginner or have not hiked lately, you'll want to work your way up to these vertical hikes, here are some flat options to train with first:

We have a $5 membership fee to cut down on non-participation. If you would like to lead one or a few hikes a year, or help in planning hikes, I can add you as assistant organizer, just ask. www.WTA.org has a 12 person limit on lead hikes, so please adhere to this rule when scheduling hikes. Wendita's Cell 425-269-9108 for help finding us at trailhead...but I do not carry it on the trail so don't call after start time of hikes. ALL hikes are deemed as a "no-cell phone zone" so please leave it in the car or turn it off...it's NATURE TIME!!
Organizing takes a lot of personal time and effort and obligation to show up rain or shine, plus it costs the organizers $$ to maintain the website. It's only $5 a year to show that you intend to be part of the group...I don't think that will break anyone.
Beautiful moss covered boulders, several bridges spanning a splashing creek, great viewpoints and the true summit of Cougar Mountain - I love this hidden little hike. It's the perfect thing if you want to get your blood flowing Christmas Day after the presents are opened.
The Wilderness Creek and Wilderness Peak Loop Trail is 3.5 miles long with an elevation gain of 1,100 feet and a difficulty level of "Moderate". Read more
