Join us for an introduction to beekeeping presented by Hilary. San Diego City Council recently legalized backyard beekeeping so it is the perfect time to sign up and learn about the honeybee. Beekeeping is a an exciting and interesting hobby with delicious results. If you're thinking about starting a bee hive or are just curious about what's involved with keeping bees, then this is a great introductory class for you. The class is designed for absolute beginners so no prerequisite knowledge is required. There is no need for protective clothing but there will be an opportunity to observe Hilary's backyard hive from safe distance. Hilary will teach you how the honey bee lives, discuss different hive designs, and tell you how to get started with your own hive. She will also provide a handout and will serve as a post-class beekeeping guru to those who decide they want to move forward with beekeeping. This class will be approximately 2 hours long.

The class will be held at Hilary's house in Clairemont and will be limited to 10 people. The tuition is $20 and must be paid in advance (mainly because there is a limited space in the class and we have had people reserve a space and then not show up). Hilary's address will be sent to you upon payment. You can make your payment via Paypal (https://www.paypal.com/). To do so, log into paypal and click the tab that says 'send money' then enter Hilary's email address: hilary.a.kearney@gmail.com.

If for some reason you need to cancel your RSVP you will receive full refund as long as you do so 48 hours prior to the event. If for some reason you are not able to pay the tuition but would still like to attend please message Hilary regarding a scholarship.
