"King Kong" (1933) and "The Searchers" at Gary's

Details
Hey everyone, my cult films for June are two classics produced by Merian C. Cooper.
First is "King Kong" (1933) the original beauty and the beast film. Kong is a giant ape captured from uncharted Skull Island, and brought to New York as a sideshow attraction. Kong falls for the beauty (Fay Wray), escapes from his captors, rampages through the city, and ends up at the Empire State Building. The film also stars Bruce Cabbot and Robert Armstrong.
Next is "The Searchers" directed by John Ford. Some consider this to be the greatest western of all time, with John Wayne's best performance. Wayne plays a civil war veteran who spends years pursuing his niece (Natalie Wood), who was kidnapped by indians. Also starring Jeffery Hunter and Vera Miles.
Feel free to bring a drink or a snack to share. We'll order pizza's between the films. Hope to see you there!
