I admit to being "challenged" in using that website. I still can't figure
it out completely. In fact, I can't usually find it. I'm traveling a lot
this month and don't expect to make the meeting.
I know what it's like to be the only one to show up. I belong to another
book club and I was that person the first time. The second time I was one
of two. This time, I planned to attend but had something come up at the
last minute. Meeting in the book store coffee shop at least meant I didn't
look out of place and I had plenty to entertain myself with. But I'm open
to any meeting place.

I look forward to meeting everyone eventually. Thanks.

Subject: [bookclub-874] Venue vote, very important that everyone read and
Hi again to everyone. I put this message in a separate email so that
it wouldn't get overlooked.
From the beginning of the group, I've heard conflicting preferences
about where we hold the meeting, which boil down to two choices:
1) Start around 6 p.m. and have the meeting someplace where alcohol
is served and table service of snacks and meals is available (The
"Happy Hour" option) or 2) start around 7 at a coffee shop either
attached to a bookstore or not (the "Coffee Shop" option.). It's
never been clear to me that a majority prefers one or the other, but
different individuals definitely have preferences.
I put a poll on the website, but the responses have been few and
not decisive. So, I'm asking everyone to vote by email for either
"Happy Hour" or "Coffee Shop" no later than Friday. Majority rules,
but in the event of a tie, votes of members who've come to meetings
will get extra weight.
