Simple Patterns for Scaling Websites - Some lessons learned at Mozilla

Brandon Burton, Web Operations Engineer, Mozilla

Mozilla has learned a number of lessons and developed a playbook of simple patterns for scaling our various web applications, as we've grown from thousands to hundreds of millions of daily active users over the last few years. Brandon Burton from Mozilla's Web Operations team is going to share a few of those patterns and lessons with you today and provide insight into scaling the many pieces of a modern web application architecture and our strategies to keep pace with this growth.

Brandon is on github and twitter as @solarce

You know it was a good meetup when you spend the following morning looking at stuff you heard about last night.

Thanks everyone for coming to hang out, speak, ask questions, and make LA DevOps a great time.

We're always looking for speakers, sponsors, and new place to that can host 40+ people with a projector.

We're also looking for someone who could volunteer to help record and possibly live stream future meetups with talks.

If you're interested, please contact myself, Carlo, or Lars.

It was great to see the technologies used by Mozilla for speeding things up, since that's what I'm doing mostly for Nami Media... making it webscale!
