About the talk:
David Brake will talk about how after leveraging his first company, outsourcing development and fighting a trademark battle, he cut back to a $0 burn rate and used Lean startup methodology to pivot LRNGO's go to market, validate and scale their marketplace to users in over 193 countries. He also talks about how to find a win/win when creating a team pre-revenue, how to use surveys to opt in new users, and lessons they learned from their journey as well as their future plans.
About the Speaker:
David Brake has always been passionate about making learning more efficient. After attending the University of Michigan and earning a living as a professional musician, he began a career as a private music & classroom teacher. He started his first company Teachers 2 Go LLC in 2007; a private teaching service now with over 200 mobile instructors in a variety of subjects that go directly to the homes of clients. David is also the organizer of the peer learning group: The Houston Language Partners Initiative and the Houston Learning Exchange Meetup Group. He gives free seminars at the Houston Public Library to educate the public about the benefits of free learning exchange. David is the founder of LRNGO.com, along with his technical cofounder Mandy Liu.
LRNGO.com is a worldwide knowledge marketplace where people connect to learn from each other in person or online. LRNGO exists to accelerate the transfer of knowledge and bring users together so they can educate each other live one-to-one, including at no cost.
LRNGO's mission is to bring peer to peer learning to the world, and their vision is to create a worldwide marketplace that enables people to make online transactions with each other for learning as easily as they can buy & sell goods online.
Since launching the beta worldwide in March of this year, they have grown to over 20,000 users in 191 countries, had over 3,000 social shares and 2500 connections made within the site. They are currently accumulating users at over 100 signups a day.
