Samhain Ritual and Bonfire In the Forest

You are invited to join us for this late-night, amazing, and intense Samhain ritual. Imagine... a circle of witches in the dark of night, around a bonfire and surrounded by the tall pines and ancient rock formations. Repeating the tradition we started four years ago, once again Living Earth will hold this open Samhain ritual at a secret location in the woods.

WHEN, WHERE, and WHO:

The night of Friday, November 2, we'll go out together to a location in the Pike National Forest about 1 hour away from Living Earth Center. We will carpool from Living Earth Center, leaving the Center at 9:00PM, 2120 S Holly St #9, Denver CO 80222.

Please arrive there by 9pm as we will leave promptly at that time. Due to the late hour and serious nature, this will be strictly an adults-only ritual; no children (under 16) allowed. Also, we ask all attending to participate in circle; no spectators please. If you or someone who comes with you decides not to be in circle, they will be asked to return to their vehicle and wait until the ritual is over.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING:

Please wear whatever ritual attire is comfortable; robes are suggested but not necessary. We also recommend bringing a blanket and warm winter-weather coats/hats/etc. Extra firewood is appreciated if you have some to bring. Camping is possible at this location, so feel free to bring a tent if you can handle camping in winter. It will be cold, so please dress accordingly and prepare for any weather!

If you have any mobility impairment, please bring a chair so you can make yourself comfortable during and after ritual. We can assist in its setup and in helping you get to the ritual circle from your car. We recommend not using a chair if you are able to stand during ritual. Please bring your own thermos of hot, non-alcoholic beverage like coffee, tea, hot cocoa for after the ritual.

Lastly, we will have an altar to honor the ancestors. If you would like to bring an offering for the altar or if you have a picture or memento you'd like to place on it, please feel free to do so.

CAN I MEET YOU AT THE FOREST LOCATION INSTEAD?

If you live far away or for some other reason can't join the caravan, and would prefer to drive yourself to the exact location, please email Joy to get directions at joy@livingearthcolorado.org. However, it's really important we do not have any late arrivals and you'll miss out on the element of mystery created by the processional, so we do prefer that those who can join the caravan.

A $5-10 donation is suggested if you are able and would like to contribute, but not required, to offset the expenses incurred with this event and to support Living Earth Center.
