What we’re about
Want to be a part of an active Earth-based spiritual group focused on service, ritual, and fellowship? Please join! Visit our main website for lots more information on our group: www.livingearthcolorado.org. Also here is our New Member Welcome Packet.
Living Earth is an open circle of individuals and families in the south Denver area of Colorado. We share philosophies and practices of Earth-based spirituality and Earth consciousness. We celebrate the seasons, and grow together in a supportive, egalitarian environment. The vast majority of our events are designed to be family-friendly, although many of our members do not have children. We are welcoming and inclusive of all! We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit and a church (reclaiming that word!) for people who enjoy a very different embodiment of what a church can be.
You are invited to attend our public in-person events with the following COVID-19 protocols:
· We do now require vaccination at our in person events. Here are some resources about the safety and validity of vaccination. Please bring your proof of vaccination; you may be asked to share it with the organizer upon arrival.
· We require that you (and any guests over age 18) have this liability waiver on file with us before attending anything in person: https://form.jotform.com/211264981148155 and you can optionally upload proof of vaccination there as well.
· Events will be outdoor-only or online, generally speaking. Indoor events may have very limited capacity.
· Capacity may be limited, to the comfort level of who is facilitating and the constraints of the venue. If you have reserved a spot but cannot attend, please cancel your RSVP so that someone on the wait-list can attend.
· No masks are needed outdoors, and masks for indoors may be requested depending on the circumstances or if someone in attendance requests masks.
You are invited to attend our online events with the following protocols
· If you are unable or unwilling to receive the Covid vaccine or if you are not comfortable being around people outdoors of unknown vaccination status or health, this is a great way to participate!
· It helps create a sense of togetherness and community if you are willing to keep your camera on.
· Unlimited capacity and attendance from anywhere. (Updated RSVPs are appreciated)
As you may know Living Earth also offers a private ritual group experience by invitation. About half our events are published in this meetup group and open to the public, and the other half are invitation-only for this private ritual group. For information about joining the private ritual group please see our New Member Welcome Packet.
Thank you and we hope to see you soon!

See all- The Ritual in the River - Lughnasad SabbatDu Pont Park, Louviers, CO
This is THE annual Ritual in the River! It's time to wade in the creek, meander through the forest and meadow, and celebrate the late Summer Sabbot of Lughnsad/Lammas!
Please Read the Entire Description and SCREENSHOT/PRINT the map, and bring with you!
We will gather in the small town of Louviers, CO at the Dupont Park/Open Space picnic shelter by the ball fields at 4:00pm. We'll give everyone some time to arrive and apply sunscreen, bug spray, etc., then together, at 4:30pm, we'll do a walking meditation along a hidden path to Plum Creek for a ritual in the water. There is a quarter mile walk through tall grass and cottonwood trees, down into the wide and sandy creek bed of Plum Creek. For those with mobility issues, be aware this is not the most accessible site and we will be scrambling down a steep embankment roughly 5' tall to get into the water. We will help whoever needs it, though, as much as possible! Be prepared to get a little wet, deal with some mosquitoes, and get some sand in your shoes, but I guarantee it's worth it!
Following the ritual, we will return to the Dupont Park picnic area to enjoy a light potluck snack/refreshments. Living Earth will provide drinks and plates/cups/utensils. Your contribution of sharable dishes, bread, fruit, veggies, cheese, desserts, etc are most welcome if desired - just put in a comment on this event with what you are bringing (optional). Consider bringing your own folding chair so that we can spread out our seating area.
Donations Appreciated: Thank you to those who already make a regular monthly donation. Your contributions keep us functioning and able to offer these events. A $5-10 donation is suggested in any of the following ways:
- cash/check/Venmo at the event
- make a one time contribution at the above link on the meetup website event post
- Visit our PayPal Donation Page to make a one time or monthly donation.
Safety and What to Bring:
Bring a towel and possibly a change of shoes/sandals, mosquito repellent, and layers of clothing for any possible weather. Prepare to get wet - some of us get wet head to toe, others just get the legs wet. Drums or rattles are welcome. This is all ages and in the past we've had ages 1-85 represented. We do not recommend going into the river for very young children unless the parent is willing to hold them or hold on to them at all times, or sit/stand on the bank with them if the water is swift. (Sometimes the water is just a couple inches and very safe, and other times it's knee high and too forceful for a toddler.) Older children will likely really enjoy exploring the park and there is a playground!Map is here:
