LSUG Scala Dojo

LSUG Scala Dojo

Details

A new regular dojo session is been run every third Thursday of the month (for now).

The dojo will help anyone interested in Scala to gain a greater appreciation of the language as well as practical experience solving a problem with Scala code. The current problem is to implement a model of a Minesweeper board.

Project information and code is being hosted on the Assembla.com site (a bit like project kenai, github, etc). You can view more information about lsug-dojo and the projects being tackled (https://www.assembla.com/wiki/show/lsug-dojo/) and also get a copy of the dojo code from the assembla git repository (https://www.assembla.com/code/lsug-dojo/git/nodes).

A laptop will be provided with the development environment (https://www.assembla.com/wiki/show/lsug-dojo/Tools) ready to use.

Each person will have the opportunity to do 10 minutes of work on the tests and code, paired with a co-pilot. After 10 minutes the co-pilot will take over the keyboard and a new person will volunteer to be co-pilot.

The audience will be supplying lots of positive and constructive comments and suggestions and it is therefore beneficial that you share your thoughts with the audience as you work.

If you have any comments, please add them on the meetup.com site. If you want to discuss things in more detail you can start a thread in the messages tab of the lsug-dojo site.
