Hands On Session: Exploring Stories with Lego

Details

Antony Marcano will be joining us to run an experiential workshop on user-stories. Every time he runs it, many people discover unexpected ways in which typical approaches to user-stories limit their agility. In this session you'll be writing stories for a home made of Lego and then trying to build it. After each iteration, you will reflect on the experience and use the metaphor of a Lego house to refocus your user-stories to better facilitate incremental and iterative development. Even if all you take away is validation of your approach to user-stories, you'll also leave having had a lot of fun. I mean, who doesn't enjoy Lego?!

Skill Level: All

Antony Marcano has spent the better part of 20 years in technology and innovation. His experience includes delivering mobile apps, streaming media, telecommunications, e-commerce, web apps and more. With nearly 15 years experience of Agile methodologies (before they were called “Agile”), Antony now spends much of his time advising, coaching, consulting and guiding organisations in innovation, agility, lean values and culture, agile product development and agile software-development practices. Alongside his regular work, Antony has held the position of Technical Editor for Better Software magazine, speaks at industry conferences and is a regular guest lecturer on Agile Methods at Oxford University.
