We previously covered Lu Xun's "A Madman's Diary" - now we cover the second short story from that collection ("Call to Arms") relating to a certain Kong YiJi - a scholar who never really makes it past the Imperial Examinations. You wouldn't call it the most cheerful story in the world, but at least it fairly straightforward with short sentences and few if any chengyus!
