Hi folks

Everyone who turned up last Wednesday seemed to have a good time. The Club lounge at Dolphin house was much less cramped than the Captain's cabin and a lot less noisy too.

However, it would be helpful to us (Steve, Guofang & myself) to understand what we could have done to increase the numbers. We know that December is often an awkward month and there's a lot going on but if you *didn't* come on Wednesday December 9th please would you let us know if there was a particular reason so we can do something about it. OK, we can't do much about the time of year, but it would still be good for us to know if that was the main reason or if there are other things we can change.

Please give us feedback using this poll:
(pick as many reasons as apply to you)

We'd also like to know people's preferences for days for the study meetups - if there are days that are particularly good or bad for you please let us know using this poll:
(please rate the days from 1 = worst to 10 = best)

FInally, we'd initially assumed that the monthly meal would be best on a Friday so people could have a drink and not worry about work the next day. A couple of people have said they'd prefer other days and it would be good to know if this feeling is widespread.
(please rate the days from 1 = worst to 10 = best)

We realise that this is busy month for many people but it would help us a lot to get some feedback and the polls will only take a few 10s of seconds to complete.

Finally, you can always get in touch using the mailing list or message board. If you find an online resource that's particularly helpful to you why not tell others about it? If you have an opinion and you'd prefer not to air it publicly please send an email to [address removed]

thanks in advance!

Dave, Steve & Guofang
