Eaton Falls--musical monkey hike # 1 of 2 today (rock music, not rock climbing)

4 miles or so walk from Eaton Canyon Nature Center to Eaton waterfall.

(I lead a second waterfall hike today at the spectacular Fish Canyon falls in Duarte starting at 2:15. This hike is posted separately)

--PARKING: Park in the lot, if you're lucky, or park in the neighborhood, if you're not. There is no parking fee anywhere.

BRING LUNCH

--Wear shoes you can get wet.

--Flat trail, not much elevation gain (300 feet over 2 miles)

--Lots of stream crossings on rocks, or just slosh your way across like I do, then stand under the falls and pose for embarrassing pictures...

--Meet at the Eaton Canyon nature center parking lot by the Nature Center building

(it has restrooms and running water)

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: The hike is in Altadena, which is northeast of Pasadena. Take the 210 freeway to the Altadena Drive offramp, (which is between the Allen ave. and Sierra Madre Blvd offramps) go north (uphill) and just north of the intersection with New York Drive is the right turn into the Eaton nature center. The Google map calls it Veranda Ave.

Bring lunch, clothing (sorry, nude hikes are a different Meetup group), lots of water--2 liters, hat, comfy shoes, snacks, all your troubles..., camera, etc
