Carolinas Secular Conference 2012

From: Amy M.

The Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry is proudly sponsoring the 2012 Carolinas Secular Conference. Held here in Charleston this year, the Carolinas Secular Conference is an annual opportunity for freethinkers, leaders, activists, visionaries, and team members from across the Carolinas region to come together and share ideas, plans, and initiatives between themselves, for local groups, and the region as a whole. Are you interested in helping to build a better, secular Carolinas regional community? If so, THIS ANNUAL EVENT IS FOR YOU!

Last year at our first annual event we met in Carolina Beach, North Carolina, and began to establish a true network of communities across the region. Since that time we have seen established groups and programs thrive, and also new groups of Freethinkers from every viewpoint spring up in many areas. The conference provides a ground for learning and sharing, bringing in speakers to inform and train, as well as awarding grass roots achievement by individuals across both states. As well as a working event, this is also a celebration and a place to have fun. The highpoint of our program is the Carolinas Freethinkers Banquet, where we hold the Freethought social event of the year, with fine food, exciting speakers, highly publicized awards, and spend the very best quality time with freethinking friends, old and new. This event is a celebration of our growing secular movement and culture, but also a chance to join in a live network of planning to meet the challenges of the next year and the coming decade.
