They needed a bigger room . Everyone there saw Dr Soon is interested only in data and truth . He has undergone hardships because of his refusal to knuckle under to ant-science of the watermelons . To me a most poignant comment was that he was temped by job offers from some Chinese universities because they offered greater academic freedom .

Our former member , Jack , did not show up . He exemplifies the reason I so appreciate the statement in the LP platform challenging "the cult of the omnipotent state" . But I would add the adjective "omniscient" because that is what we are dealing with in the brainwashing against the very molecule we are constructed out of .

<<"In 2011, it was revealed that Soon received over $1,000,000 from petroleum and coal interests since 2001.[27] Documents obtained by Greenpeace under the US Freedom of Information Act show that the Charles G. Koch Foundation gave Soon two grants totaling $175,000 in 2005/6 and again in 2010. Multiple grants from the American Petroleum Institute between 2001 and 2007 totalled $274,000, and grants from Exxon Mobil totalled $335,000 between 2005 and 2010. Other coal and oil industry sources which funded him include the Mobil Foundation, the Texaco Foundation and the Electric Power Research Institute. Soon has stated unequivocally that he has "never been motivated by financial reward in any of my scientific research." and "would have accepted money from Greenpeace if they had offered it to do my research.">> - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Soon

Jack, your research is welcome, but if you want to pick fights with people, go to Facebook. You are a TROLL over here and that is unwelcome. I have asked you to show up at an event or two so we can look each other in the eye. I hope you do that soon. This is a place where people organize to get away from their computer screens, off their butts, out of their houses, and out into the world to meet and connect with others. You should come to an event and have a conversation face-to-face.

It seems a bunch of this debate has been truncated which I don't think is helpful . In any case , Jack , I do think you should make it to Soon's talk to back up your positions . I will be making it there from Teller County . The issue is the effect of CO2 on global temperature , not sources of funding , other effects of humanity on the planet , or politics .

Also read this little gem: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soon_and_Baliunas_controversy "The Soon and Baliunas controversy involved the publication of a paper written by Willie Soon and Sallie Baliunas in the journal Climate Research, which prompted concerns about the peer review process of the paper and resulted in the resignation of several other editors and the eventual repudiation of the paper by the publisher."

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
