Dear Members,

For our July meetup (the standard meetup, not the bonus model), Mary Bertun of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections will speak on Learning Management Systems (LMS).

The problem our agency faced was obvious. We could not keep bringing people to learning, we had to bring learning to people. Our solution was to build an LMS.

An LMS is 3 things: a database, a software system, and a web site. In this presentation, I'll show you LMS web design that:

Streamlines administrative work Facilitates technical support Gets in-house content to specific employee groups Categorizes topics and moves participants from teacher-focused classes to self-directed learning This meetup is hosted by Sector 67 (http://sector67.org), a non-profit collaborative workspace dedicated to providing an environment to learn, teach, work-on, build, and create next generation technology; including software, hardware, electronics, art, sewing, pottery, glass, metalwork, iPhone/Android applications, games, etc.

Park on nearby streets.

As usual, meetup starts at 6pm, presentation at 6:30. If you RSVP "Yes" and change your mind, please change your RSVP so others can attend.

Cheers,

Ben Seigel
