Make:SF at The Tech Liminal July 1st

NOTE: We are trying out prepayment for this event. Please see the end of the description for details.

We are back to Arduino this month with the Bluefruit EZ-Link Serial Link (http://www.adafruit.com/products/1588) from Adafruit. This Arduino serial link connects to the Serial port on the Arduino and allows you to do remote programming and communication between the Arduino and any computer. In fact it can connect to any Bluetooth device that can set up a COM port is it can connect to your phone just as easily. We will go through how to connect the Bluefruit to you computer and how to use it for communication and programming. This shield is great for pretty much any battery powered project from remote sensors to robot control. Pretty neat!

Equipment: Please bring a computer and an Arduino Uno or Mega (the Leonardo and Due are not compatible) . If you do not have an Arduino we have a few that we can loan out.

And, we want to see the cool stuff you all are doing! So email us if you have something you want to show off and we will arrange a demo.

PRE-PAYPMENT: The workshop costs $30 and payment is required to be able to RSVP. You can use Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. If you want to do pay another way please contact Andrew at andrew@coolaboratory.com. Also if you prepay and you can not make it to the event we will mail the kit to you. On the day drop-ins are still welcome but please RSVP if you can. The reason we are trying out prepayment is that we are trying to get a better match between the number of people who RSVP and the number of people who actually come. This way we can make sure people who can come do not get stuck on the wait list.
