Get Lit With Electroluminescent Wire
Details
It's been a couple of years since we've done this fun workshop, so it's time to explore EL Wire once again!
EL (electroluminescent) Wire lights up like neon, yet is flexible enough to embellish clothing, bikes, computers and more. When combined with a driver, it can glow, blink, or even be programmed in complex, animated sequences.
In the workshop, we will cover the basics - learning about drivers and the wire; soldering the EL Wire to the connector and attaching the driver; and working with EL Wire to mount it to a stable shape, such as an item of clothing.
Kit includes a driver, 3 feet of wire (blue, white, red, orange, green or yellow), and connectors.
You provide the item to which you wish to attach the wire. Jackets, hats, bracelets, bikes, and even laptops might be good candidates.

Show it off
And, if you want to show off your costume, join us at the 3rd Annual Autumn Lights Festival in Oakland on October, where Anca Mosoiu and Michael Schrecker will show a magical grove of Fireflies (which we made with you all in 2012!)
The Autumn Lights Festival is October 16th and 17th at the Gardens at Lake Merritt in Oakland (http://gardensatlakemerritt.org/).
