Make:SF at The Tech Shop Jan 13th

Hello Makers,

We have a super cool speaker for you this month, Eric Maundu, who is the founder of Kijani Grows (http://www.kijanigrows.com) and the creator of a really cool integrated aquaponics garden controller.

For those of you who do not know aquaponics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquaponics) combines hydroponics and fish farming to create a highly efficient and compact system for growing food. Eric's board combines a Linux Wifi router, ATMEGA 2560, USB host and sensor interfaces with a database backend and web based control. You can see some more information about the board in this video. He will speak about how he developed the board and how he was able to get it all built in China.

Then, now that we are sufficiently inspired, we will move onto the second part of the evening which is to help all of you get started with all the cool stuff you got over the holidays! So come with all your new Arduino's, kits, 3D printers, or what ever else you have. We will help you set it up and then we'll see what it can do.
