The Boston Summer Open 2015 is the second in a series of quarterly tournaments. The first tournament was a blast, and we hope to make this just as successful!
Unlike most Go tournaments in the US which use a handicap system, games in the upper divisions of the Boston Open will be even. We expect one or two divisions for dan level, one division for 1-5 kyu players, and one handicap division for 6-15 kyu players. Cash prizes will be awarded in all divisions, with a top prize of $150.
Logistics:
Pregistration required! There is a limit for this tournament of 50 players.
Preregistration closes on June 5th at 9am (24 hours before tournament start).

Fee: $20 (All proceeds will go towards prize money)

If you need to become a member, there are three options:
- Online regular membership ($30)
- Online one-day membership ($10)
- MGA promo new membership ($15) - mail-in form, requires a signature from me (Walther) or David Kahn. I'm happy to meet people at the Wed, Thurs, Sat meetups to sign. This option may take some time to process, so act now!
Location: Curry Student Center room #440, Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
Transportation: The Curry Student Center is a 5 minute walk from the Orange Line Mass Ave station, as well as a 3 minute walk from the Green (E) Line Northeastern University station.
Parking: The Curry Student Center is close to both the Gainsborough and Renaissance garages, which are both available to visitors. You can find more information here: http://www.northeastern.edu/parking/wheretopark/index.html
Time:
Check-in time: 8:15 am - 8:45am
Tournament start: 9am
Lunch will be a 1.5 hr break.
Format:
• All Games are AGA rated
• 4 rounds, Swiss McMahon pairing
• Time Settings: 30 minutes main time, 5 x 40s overtime
• All games will be even, except for the 6-15 kyu division, which will be handicapped according to rank. All division boundaries are subject to adjustment on tournament day, though this will be done after consulting with players who might be affected.
