INDEPENDENCE DAY SPECTACULAR IN SALEM

EVENT: Enjoy historic Salem for the birthday of our country! We will walk about 0.5 miles as a group to picnic and enjoy the bands, pops concert, and air force fly over at Derby Park by the harbor, culminating with beautiful fireworks. Dinner can be purchased in Salem or brought from home.
After the fireworks (about 9:45), there will be an optional Salem Ferry ride back to Boston (the ferry is 2 blocks from Derby Park). The last couple of years the ferry ride was spectacular! We witnessed the entire coastline's array of fireworks (including Boston's grand finale!). If you are planning on taking the ferry back to Boston you should purchase a ticket in June (salemferry.com) as this option will fill up fast. Salem is also accessible via MBTA Commuter Rail and Bus routes.
MEET: We will meet outside by the fountain in front of the Peabody Essex Museum at 4pm. Drizzle cancels
RSVP REQUIRED (include a phone number and email address) for this trip, as there are many options and details including plans for the ferry so contact the TC by email, before July 3rd. .
Cost: No charge for the fire works, the Ferry is $9.50 each way and there is a $5 fee for a Mosaic guest.

MOSAIC OF MASS ANNUAL Picnic ? 2010
Celebrate 20 Years with US at Lars Anderson Park


We will be holding our 20th Anniversary at the Larz Anderson Park. Since this is a special year for our Club we want to celebrate this event with a party among friends, with a good meal provided by Mosaic at no charge and a Birthday Cake. We may have some live entertainment.
RSVP IS REQUIRED BY JULY 7TH: Send your email to: [address removed] and include an email address (preferred) or phone number for us to contact you and include the word Picnic in the subject line.
Cost - No charge! And the cost for nonmembers has to be worked out.
If you have not been a member or would like to renew the membership cost for membership is $25 for an individual (see other prices on the membership form at our web site) and then you can come as a member and attend the Picnic at no charge..
For Membership: Send a check with the form and the correct amount made out to ?MOMC of MA? to: MOMC of MA, P. O. Box 1821, Brookline, MA 02446. If you have a Paypal account, you may also pay us on www.paypal.com. Send the money to [address removed]. Opening a Paypal account is easy and free.

CLASSICAL MUSIC AT THE ESPLANADE SERIES

EVENT: Join us for some beautiful evening by the Charles River of picnicking and listening to Landmark Orchestra?s classical concert series at the Esplanade. No Charge for the concert. We will be sitting in front and center of the Hatchshell and people should arrive 6:45 so that we can settle in and do introductions before the music begins at 7pm. Drizzle cancels. This will be every Wed night until Labor Day, Bring dinner and something to sit on.
RSVP: No RSVP required. Contact TC's email with any questions. Please give me several days to respond.
MEET: 6:45 front and center of the stage. TC will be wearing a MOSAIC cap. Drizzle cancels.
COST: $5 for a Mosaic Guest.


Tues July 27
OUTDOOR FOLK DANCING AND INSTRUCTION with the Folk Arts Center

Event: Begins 7:30 pm goes to 10 pm and the location will be by the fountain in Boston?s Copley Square, near the corner of Clarendon and Boylston Streets (T or bus to Copley). Beginners and singles welcome! Instruction will be provided. (The easier dances are early in the evening.) Call the Center at[masked] after 5 pm to confirm that it will be held and no reservations are necessary

Essex River Kayaking Adventure

EVENT: We will be joining Essex River Basin Adventurers, ERBA, www.erba.com to take part in a 3 hour guided tour around the mouth of the Essex River (the ?Gilligan? Tour). This is a trip for both the beginner and intermediate and it explores a relaxed area with lots of islands and wildlife, the kayaking itself will be a fun work out. Essex is a beautiful, colonial town with a lot of character and a visit for some dinner after our tour may be well worth it.
RSVP: You must enroll yourself in the 3:00 the ?Gilligan? Tour by July 25th with Essex River Basin Adventurers (978)[masked] or use the email address above, make a note that you are with Mosaic and send me a rsvp as well with and please include a phone number for contact on the 1st.
MEET: By 2:00 on the 1st at ERBA?s Barn. The kayaking includes shuttle service and we are requested to arrive 45 minutes before our tour starts for parking and other arrangements. I will have a Mosaic T shirt and cap on that day.
The Barn is on Rt 133, One Main St in Essex and parking is located at a municipal lot a couple of blocks away. The town is fairly easy to get to, it's just off Rt 128 shortly before Gloucester, and the web site for Essex River Basin Adventurers has driving directions as well as a description of the kayaking trip that I picked out for us.
COST: $53 for the ?Gilligan? Tour (you can cancel before Thurs at noon and still get your money back) plus $5 a Mosaic Guest

Beach Walk in Nahant

EVENT: Walk along the beach from Swampscott to Nahant. Bring lunch or buy at Tides restaurant
in Nahant. We will be eating on the beach.
RSVP: Preferred but not required by August 7th. Please include a cell number for contact on the 8th.
MEET: at Red Rock Bistro, 141 Humphrey Street, in Swampscott at 11:00 am. http://www.redrockbistro.com
COST: Bring money for lunch or beverage/food or ice cream afterwards, plus $5 for a Mosaic Guest.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Commuter Rail to the Swampscott is the quickest ride
from Boston and the 10:15 train out of North Station arrives at 10:37. The Red Rock Bistro is only 6/10 mile walk
from the Swampscott station on Burrill Street. (when you get off the train take a right onto Burrill st
and follow it down to the water and the Red Rock Bistro is right there).Buses: the 442 buses from Wonderland to Humphrey
and Redington Street (1 stop after Monument Ave)is across the street from the Red Rock Bistro. The 441-bus
stop is at the corner of Paradise road and Burrill Street 3/10 of a mile away.

Canadian doubles. Change partners, move from court to court, and just have
a good time playing!
RSVP: MANDATORY Please call TC for details. A TC will be there only if
participants have RSVP?d.
MEET: Starting April 14, at 5PM (could be earlier) at Jewish Community
Center 333 Nahanton Street. Parking is on the left, courts are near the
swimming pool. Bring water!
COST: $5 non-members
