Details
Hey everyone, for March I'll be showing two cult films from director Joseph Sargent.
First is "Colossus: The Forbin Project" (1969), starring Eric Braeden, Susan Clark and William Schallert. Dr Forbin develops Colossus, the ultimate computer. The thinking matching demands that it be able to communicate with it's Soviet counterpart Guardian. Together, they attempt to take over the world.
Next is "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three" (1974) starring Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, and Martin Balsam. A group of thugs have hijacked a subway train near New York's Pelhan station and they threaten to kill one hostage per minute unless their demands are made. Transit chief Lt Garber (Matthau) has to stall the criminals who are led by one of the craftiest, cruelest villains (Shaw) ever. This film was remade recently with Denzel Washington and John Travolta.
Feel free to bring a drink or a snack to share. We'll order pizzas between the films. Hope to see you there!
