Game Day at Your Mom's Basement (Sat., June 22, 2013)

Our GM signup can be found here!

The event offerings for this week are subject to change, based on the responses from the June 1 and June 8 game day questions - if there isn't strong enough interest, Masks of the Living God will be dropped for a scenario offering.

Pathfinder Society Module - Crypt of the Everflame:

An adventure for 1st-level characters

The young heroes of the town of Kassen are ready for their coming-of-age ceremony, an old tradition in which they retrieve a piece of the eternal flame burning in the tomb of the town’s founder. Yet when they arrive there, they find only the corpses of their fellow townsfolk, dead bandits, and mysterious animated skeletons. The novice heroes must brave the traps and perils of the Crypt of the Everflame, discover the source of the corruption that has awakened an ancient evil, and defeat a menace that seeks vengeance against Kassen and its people.

Crypt of the Everflame is a dungeon adventure for 1st-level characters, written for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and compatible with the 3.5 edition of the world’s oldest RPG. The adventure map uses the same layout as the 2009 edition of Paizo’s GameMastery Flip-Mat: Dungeon. This adventure is set in the forested land of Nirmathas in the Pathfinder Chronicles campaign setting, but can easily be set in any game world. It can be used on its own or combined with its sequels, Masks of the Living God and City of Golden Death to create an even greater campaign arc.

Designed specifically for the new Pathfinder Roleplaying Game rules and designed by the new game’s primary designer, Crypt of the Everflame spotlights exciting new rules updates and character abilities, making the ideal introductory adventure for Pathfinder RPG players. A new era in fantasy roleplaying begins here!

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-23 Shadow's Last Stand, Part I - At Shadow's Door:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 7th level characters (Tiers: 1-2, 3-4 and 6-7).

The Shadow Lodge’s assault on the Pathfinder Society has come to a head in the Andoren city of Almas, where renegade Shadow Pathfinders have taken over the Grand Cathedral of Aroden, holding the Pathfinders and Venture-Captain stationed there hostage. You must gain entry into the overrun Pathfinder lodge and put an end to the open warfare within the Society.

About this Game Day:

This is an announcement for a locally scheduled game day on Saturdays at the Your Mom's Basement in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Games last five hours (scheduled to end at 11:30), but the venue is open until 1 am for gaming, food, and congregation. GMs arrive an hour early for set-up and questions. While registration for events is not required, it is encouraged as registered attendees will be guaranteed a seat for play (information regarding registration can be found below).

We cater to new players and experienced Pathfinders alike, both young and old. All of our members are fantastic and display a true love for the game. We offer a friendly environment to meet new players and to experience the fun of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game with other fans. As a family friendly group we encourage families to join the fun as well. It should be noted that although Pathfinder Society adventures are written with a PG-13 rating in mind, we place no age restriction on play (children under the age of 15 are expected to have parent or guardian supervision during the games).

I look forward to seeing you there!

This Game Day at Your Mom's Basement is hosted by Ryan Blomquist (Venture-Captain).

Thanks for running us through the Crypt, Ryan. A table of 4 half-orcs and three 'others' was a blast. Long live the tusky ones.

Jeez, don't remind me. Ugh. That was the most frustrating string of rolls I've seen another player roll. It was also the worst string of rolls I've ever committed. Our corner was cursed!

Yes, we will long remember the Night of the Living 3's! ... The horror...

  • Robert Edwin N.

Is the 3rd table wait list playing too?

    June 21, 2013

  • Erik W.

please let me know if i should show up 7 it wait seems a bit crowded

    Hey all;

So, based on signups I have the tables constructed. I'm currently communicating with GMs to assign who to what, but we're ready to rock and should (will?) be more efficient than in weeks past as I finally get a handle on the Seven Ps as they relate to PFS.

    Good Gaming,
    Ryan B.

Looks like there is still some confusion about who is GMing what, but it also looks like we have enough for three tables. So if Robert still wants to GM Shadow's Last Stand I, we can go ahead and have two tables of it, and move people off the waitlist. Or I can run something different if too many people have already played that -- speak up if that's you.

I will have a level 1 bard for Crypt. (I've already played Shadow's Last Stand, but if Crypt does fill up I have a level 2 and 6 available for shenanigans). (Wasn't it nice back in the day when Meetup could post what characters you would bring over on the signup instead of having to write a separate comment? Ah, good times.)

I have a level one wizard for crypt of the everflame, if there are still seats. Otherwise I have a 5 wizard who can do shadows last stand.

Lvl 1 inquisitor, lvl 1 ranger

    June 14, 2013

  • Chris

    Still space for Crypt?

    June 13, 2013

  • Sven

I'm thinking a Level 1 Half Orc Samurai for Crypt of the Everflame. I could also bring a mostly useless Wayang Ranger but he's level 2 already, wouldn't want to outclass everyone with my hit points. :P Excited to play a module that is totally fresh to me!

    June 13, 2013

  • john

would love to do the module but going up north for a boat show this weekend. good look all

    June 12, 2013

  • Ben B.

If I am understanding this right, Crypt of the Everflame will be a module and not a scenario for 1st level characters? If it is a module and will run into Sunday morning, should the players who sign up for this event plan to level their characters throughout the adventure? I.E. should I bring a level 1, level 2, and a level 3 character sheet to the game table?

    June 11, 2013

    • Robert Edwin N.

You level once for completing the whole scenario. After you'll be level 2, but no need to level up during.

      June 12, 2013

  • Neal B

Would be interested in either with my lvl 1 Ranger

    GMing Shadows Last Stand I

    June 8, 2013

    • Jim M.

(Unless someone else has claimed it)

      June 8, 2013

  • Sven

I'd be interested in GMing Shadow's Last Stand but would need to bum a ride back to MPLS. Anyone able to drop me off in the city after the scenario?

    June 7, 2013

    • Sarah W.

I could probably give you a ride back. I live in north Minneapolis.

      June 7, 2013

    • Sven

      OK thanks, much appreciated.
