Game Day at Your Mom's Basement (Sat., Oct. 19, 2013)

Thornkeep: Sanctum of a Lost Age (Tier 6-8):

GM: Sarah Willson

A Pathfinder Society module designed for levels 6–8.

Scholars claim the dungeons below Thornkeep were built by the Ancient Azlanti, but how do they know, really? If Rozimus of Tymon speaks true, one level of Thornkeep’s dungeon holds survivors of that long-dead empire eager to return to the world and share the lore of their glorious age. They’re not undead, Rozimus claims, or illusory phantoms, but true living and breathing High Azlanti! But why does Rozimus know so much about them, and why is he so eager to return to the dungeon he claims almost killed him 5 years ago?

Written by Paizo publisher (and native Minnesotan!) Erik Mona.

#1-47: The Darkest Vengeance (Tier 1-5):

GM: Kjersten Gibson

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1–2 and 4–5).

When a newly opened Ustalav Pathfinder Lodge goes silent, it's up to you to investigate and report back to the Society as to the source of the disappearance. The mystery deepens when you arrive and find the house silent but infiltrated by an old threat now in control of one of Ustalav's most powerful artifacts.

About this Game Day:

This is an announcement for a locally scheduled game day on Saturdays at the Your Mom's Basement in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Games last five hours (scheduled to end at 11:30), but the venue is open until 1 am for gaming, food, and congregation. GMs arrive an hour early for set-up and questions. While registration for events is not required, it is encouraged as registered attendees will be guaranteed a seat for play (information regarding registration can be found below).

We cater to new players and experienced Pathfinders alike, both young and old. All of our members are fantastic and display a true love for the game. We offer a friendly environment to meet new players and to experience the fun of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game with other fans. As a family friendly group we encourage families to join the fun as well. It should be noted that although Pathfinder Society adventures are written with a PG-13 rating in mind, we place no age restriction on play (children under the age of 15 are expected to have parent or guardian supervision during the games).

I look forward to seeing you there!

This Game Day at Your Mom's Basement is being guest hosted hosted by Kjersten Gibson.

Hope you all had fun! I didn't manage to kill anyone. Yay me! :-) Lots of fun role-playing and dodging crazy people.

Hurm, big debate in my head currently is if I should be wearing my costume/makeup to the game for the party after. So don't be too surprised if I show up as one of Kitty's kitties. :D. (Don't really want to change/apply makeup in my car :P)

If we don't have many sign-ups, is there anyone that has already played Darkest Vengeance that would not be interested in joining that table?

If so, I do have a Halloween party I'm going to after game; I could just go earlier. :D just let me know. :-)

It'll be tier 1-2, even with 2 level 3s. You will need all the peeps you can get! Does the bard know invisibility yet? That might be helpful.... You know you're going to Ustalav, the land of vampires, werewolves and other dark legends. Perhaps as a resourceful Pathfinder, you would think to yourself "what would I need if I know I'm going to a land rumored to be associated with dark folk, shrouded in darkness, and what else would I need if I wanted to sneak around undetected?". Just some advice to think about.

A big thanks to Kjersten (GM and guest coordinator) and Sarah Willson (GMing Thornkeep) for holding down the fort while I rep the Twin Cities Pathfinders in Wisconsin.

I just added a +1 to my attendance number . It's to add my brother Patrick to the wait list. He's having issues with his meetup account. Anyways, he has a Cleric 1 character.

Is tier same as level? I was looking to get in the second game described. But it occurred to me to make sure I am not trying to sign up for something. Not in my range. :-)

You can play in a scenario even if you are not in tier, though that comes with some risks (trying to play a level 1 character in an adventure designed for 4-5, can be quite the challenge!) so if you have a character between 1 and 5 you will be able to play Darkest Vengeance no matter what tier it ends up being :)

Final note, the tier that the scenario is played at is determined by the average level of all the players at the table. So if you have players with levels 1, 1, 4, 3, 2, 1, for example, it would be Tier 1-2, as the average party level is 2. Hope that helps :)
