Free beer/soda, swag & desserts + win a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne!

A Database Month event:

Cloudant's CXO, Sam Bisbee, will show you why you should consider NoSQL as the backend for your application and the tradeoffs of moving from a RDBMS to NoSQL.

Jarrett Cruger, Engineer at Nodejitsu, will discuss how Nodejitsu provides the best of breed hosting and operations for Node.js applications through their public Platform-as-a-Service and Enterprise solutions.

At this Database Month event you will learn how your web and mobile applications can benefit from Nodejitsu + Cloudant in areas of scalability, performance and flexibility of deployment.

I am so upset I couldn't attend. Will there be recording from this event available?

The talks were informative. I thought the talks provided nice examples of real world issues. On the other hand I misunderstood the essence of the Meetup and thought, like others, that there would be more content on NoSQL. Otherwise thanks organizers and Patch for hosting the event.

Really interesting topic but a bit too much sales pitch from the presenters.

Well, I enjoyed it, and especially found the NoSQL piece informative - there's only so much you can do in an hour. Thanks a lot to Jarrett and Sam for their time. Those who are saying they'd prefer to hear more about use cases, try checking out this group's event tomorrow (10/30/2013) that specifically deals with NoSQL trends and real life uses.

No good - The event about Couchbase, which I am sure is going to do a much better job of being specific than Cloudant/nodejitsu did. Your suggestion is worth something only if Couchbase and Cloudant are the same product.

I've yet to enjoy my "winnings". Thank you either way. Will the slides or recording from this be shared? I'd like to share it with my greater team. Thanks in advance!

The level is too low. I left after 20 minutes, sorry.

OK. I expected more details about Node.js & NoSQL implementations.

The nojdeitsu guy should have gone over on how to deploy scalable node.js apps. The Cloudant guy should have given us a hands-on demo of Cloudant. We want to see explicit use cases about how these products SOLVE our issues. I really really don't care about marketing.

Being from a mssql background, I thought I'd learn a bit about what's on the other side of the fence. this event needed more real life use cases.

Is it possible to bring your bicycle up?

    October 28

    • Linda Cooper

No idea if that is allowed, but there is a bicycle hanging on the wall once you get inside (seriously), it's a very cool & unique wall-furnishing - you'l see it when you come :)
