What we’re about
In today's go-go-go, everybody's behind, got to get more done world, it seems like our work week keeps us stressed to the max. That makes our weekends even more important, as a way to get out and get away from all the stresses of our jobs. But sometimes we're just too busy to find different things to do or meet new people. One group of Tennesseans has found a way around that time crunch. They meet up through the internet...first on a web page, then live and in person...and always with a common goal of outdoor adventure. Get to know Nashville Hiking Meetup.
In addition to our regular hikes and other outdoor adventures, we also plan social events and organize community volunteer projects such as park cleanup and trail building!
Get exercise,
. Make new friends,
. . Respect the environment,
. . . Give back to the community,
. . . . Laugh a lot
What more could you want? :-)

Sellars Farm State Archaeological Area in Lebanon is considered one of the best preserved Native American villages in the Southeast. It also features a superb variety of plants, animals and other natural wonders, including spring wildflowers, unusual trees, the rare Tennessee Clubtail Dragonfly, and splendid views of Spring Creek.
Join Ranger Jason, seasonal interpreter at Long Hunter State Park, for a relaxing stroll to explore this area's diversity. Let's see how many different plants and animals we can find!
Total hiking distance will be approximately 1.5 miles. The flat trails are a mix of shade and sun, so don't forget sun protection and water. Some of the trail has grassy segments, so insect repellent might be a good idea as well.
No pets, please.
Please keep in mind this will not be a fast-paced hike. We will pause often to study and discuss the area's natural features.
Directions: Sellars Farm is located on Poplar Hill Road in Lebanon, Tennessee. From Interstate 40 take exit 239. Head east (Hwy 70 E) toward Watertown. Go approximately 1.8 miles, turn left on Poplar Hill Road, go about 0.4 miles, entrance to gravel parking lot will be on the left.
