Hack by Design - Breaking down the design workflow

What this is?

Hack by Design is the very first workshop made possible by Frances and Sophia for Noisebridge Hackerspace in San Francisco. This specific workshop is about breaking down the design workflow from understanding user’s problem up to low-fidelity prototyping. Let’s have fun by playing around with design methodologies and principles through peer-to-peer questioning, user scenarios, sticky notes brainstorming and paper prototyping of mobile interfaces. Key design best practices are going to be packed within two intense hours. So be ready!

What you can expect from this workshop?

A design toolbox of tricks, automatic reflexes, heuristics, and warnings when tackling a problem from scratch to turn it into a testable prototype. Gain more confidence in listening, brainstorming and pitching through the design process. Yes, you’ll practice that!

Our material is taken from design thinking methodology, lean principles, web design, user research, prototyping, user experience, and user interface practices.

Who is it for?

Anyone curious about hands-on design thinking for the web. Whether you’re a professional or aspiring designer, an artist, a marketer or an engineer, we are all doing some version of design to tackle problems and look for a solutions. So let’s bring our own experiences and practice design together!

...Being on time and ready for the workshop to start at 6:55pm! We are going to create peer-to-peer groups, so we need you to be there before 7pm.
