This Months Book Discussion
Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut
Nominated by Mary
Mother Night is a daring challenge to our moral sense. American Howard W. Campbell, Jr., a spy during World War II, is now on trial in Israel as a Nazi war criminal. But is he really guilty? In this brilliant book rife with true gallows humour, Vonnegut turns black and white into a chilling shade of grey with a verdict that will haunt us all.

The Meeting
Enjoy reading? Want to share your thoughts about books or just listen to other people’s opinions? Then why not join us, new members are always welcome.
We meet on the third Wednesday of every month in The Visitors' Centre function room (or occasionally in the Goldings Room) of The Vat & Fiddle Pub, close to Nottingham train station. Both rooms are through the door to the left of the bar so easy to find, but if in doubt the bar staff will be happy to point you in the right direction.
The discussion usually lasts about an hour and a half after which many members stay on for a drink and a chat in the bar.

Room Hire
The pub charges us £10 a time for room hire so we collect £1 cash per person per session to cover the cost of this. Newbies go free on their first event but otherwise if you turn up we will assume you're happy to chip in.
