Double Feature: Design Sprints, and Patents

Join us for another NoVA UX double-feature.

First, Paul Roberts at ProtectItIP will be sharing a talk about patents - how to identify if you have a patentable idea, how to document your work, and go about getting a patent when the time is right.

Then Alok Jain from 3Pillar Global will be speaking about how Agile Design Sprints can help product teams move faster.

More details about both talks coming soon.

This meetup will be sponsored by - thanks!

Thank you for all the requests for the slide deck! I'm still working on getting the slides I presented on my website. One of big hold ups was updating my slide deck on "Software and Business Method Patent Eligibility." Since that law radically changed in past few months, it needed serious updating.

Well that one is done, and it's available for free at: But I will be making it a paid download after Wednesday when it goes live on my blog. So grab it while it's free.

I'll admit it's a very legally dense slide deck, so if you need this information translated and applied to your invention, just let me know.

And of course, I'm looking for a great audience to present this new slide deck on, so you if know a forum looking for a speaker, let me know.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Is there an agenda that has time windows for the presentations? I may be only interested in only one of the presentations.

I'm a Senior Graphic Designer, starting to have a grasp in UX design. I worked for big companies like MITRE and Raytheon doing print, web and interactive. Now I'm starting my own design consulting business, but I'm also looking for that great career opportunity in UX design.
