You don't have all day. You have a finite amount of hours before the money runs out and then you have to get a day job.
Identify a product that people or companies will pay for and get to work.

In fact, it didn't even tackle a problem I had ;) It was just a great project to build that uses the Amazon Platform (S3), Heroku (Amazon EC2 ;) Rails, SideKiq, Bootstrap and other fun technology. At the moment I'm just working on a mobile application that I actually enjoyed using. Anonymous chat... what better way to let people be themselves with random people. It allows you to send images, video and text messages to random people and have a dialog with them.
I toggle back and forth between the mailing list and coding. It does slow me down, but I have all day to code. I've selected to break my day down by hours. Reading/Research, Coding, etc
