Re: Shocking racist rant by NY Tech Member - Re: [newtech-1] Giving away my book for free

I am with Andrew. Everyone is a freaking?victim?these days.
Private emails are private emails.

Now who is overreacting, labeling me with a reactionary term like vigilantism - what law am I advising someone break to achieve justice?? Expressing distaste privately and discreetly is perfectly acceptable behavior. If someone doesn't want private gossip to spread about them, they shouldn't jump in the fray.? Go play with the little dogs Andrew.

And that sounds a) like vigilantism, and b) still public.

This is between Ravi, his host, and the culprit. Not a single one of us, besides said Ravi and culprit, have, or should have, anything to do with this.

What is it, a slow internet day? Everyone feels a need to unzip and let it all hang out?

Tell the organizers of the panel who this person is and send the name of this person in private emails to those who request it and promise to treat it discreetly.? Public revenge is not the best option as it can be very costly.

WARNING: SHOCKING LANGUAGE AHEAD

I didn't know I was so *awesome* at
marketing :-)

You know, over the weekend, when I said I
would give my best-selling book on Amazon,
for free to everyone on this list, I never imagined
never thought my copy writing & marketing
would bring out such strong emotions in people... :-)

So, one of the NY Tech list members HERE
signed up for my free book, and apparently
wanted to buy a full copy to read right away.
And when he couldn't find a "buy" button on
my blog, here's what he wrote:

"You have no Fucking idea how to sell - you are a third world CUNT - when a
prospect has already made a decision to buy you should provide the click
button to buy - you have failed - because you - do not believe that you can
succeed - am I right cocksucker?"

That is an EXACT copy-paste from his email.

See how he calls me a "third world CUNT"
looking at my picture and figuring out I'm
from India?

I later found out that this guy has also signed up to
present at our next NY Tech meetup.

Now here's my dilemma:

I already wasted most of my Sunday (yesterday) plotting
revenge on this guy, and how to ruin his career
and online reputation. I wrote up an entire blog
post for several hours with each and every email
exchange we had.

So, on one side, I'm not sure if going ahead with
my revenge saga is doing me any good at all. Too much
time being spent, too much negative energy. Usual
"law of attraction" stuff.

But on the other side, jerks like this can't go on without
facing any consequences, and go on like business
as usual after such a racist rant.

So what do I do?

Help me decide. Appreciate your opinion.

I'd rather get a free e-book offer in my mail than one more bot-powered LinkedIn invitation -- sign me up, Ravi, and thanks.
Eddie, and if the free version is really good, I might even chip in and buy a printed copy from you!
