Richard, Spreadsheet 2000 was written in Prograph CPX. The closest modern language equivalent that has substantial usage is the LabView programming environment, but a lot of musical composition programming environments based on MAX/MSP have similarities. Apple's Quartz Composer graphical programming environment may be similar as well.. As I recall, you would have data sources flowing in to the visual elements from the top, and data sinks at the bottom, to which the results of the computation would flow. Each visual element would either take data from it sources, transform it, and then become a new source for other visual elements; or it would have some side effect, like showing its sources on the screen. I think the environment was sold, but languished; and then a group of users tried to re-create the environment, and I believe that this is still available, also commercially. So I heard this is a language that's "truly" visual. I don't know much about it, but am curious. Just a quick explanation of HOW it's used, if anyone uses it, and WHERE it's used. Google doesn't seem to give me the results for real-life application uses of this strange language. How do you define anything if it's all visual?? I mean, seriously, there's no coding whatsoever? Thanks to whomever can tell me. ____________________
