Food, connects us to the earth, it is part of what sustains us. Our bodies and the communities we live in are also ecological systems. In our stressful competitive world rife with processed food and isolation, we lose balance. This workshop will focuses on practices that restore balance to our internal ecosystem and suggest how we can regenerate it in our communities.
Have you ever thought of sprouting and pickling and were afraid to try? Ever wanted to make your own sauer kraut and yogurt? Our hands on workshop in the Sustainable Living series will be with Natalie A. Soleil. Founder of Tasting Awareness and local food activist. We will learn how and why to sprout and ways to integrate them in our meals, like a sprouted brown rice nori roll. Also discuss making our own cultured foods, like sauerkraut & pickles, Did you know yogurt can be made from sprouted almonds and sesame seeds?
Monica Ibacache and colleagues facilitate Sustainable Living interactive workshops introducing elements of ecological design,permaculture.
We view our bodies as ecological systems and take nature as our teacher.
We use design as a framework for understanding and connecting important ecological issues at the same time learning about positive practical actions to take both individually and in community.
