NYC permies (and newbies) please represent! [response requested]

Hi NYC Meetup!

I'm just back from the permaculture convergence this past weekend, and am excited to share something from permie-activist and current doctoral student Rafter Sass. The survey described below is one of the first attempts from within academia to understand the permaculture movement/network/philosophy (however you want to describe it) and its outcomes!

Whether you're a new student or seasoned professional, please consider adding your perspective. It's my pleasure to pass this along in support of Rafter, who has been doing wonderful work advancing/integrating social justice into the permaculture movement, and in support of the permaculture community - because I'm excited to learn about the depth and breadth of who 'we' are.

P.S. - stay tuned for notes from the network and topical discussions that took place at the convergence!

Please forward wildly.
Who is doing permaculture?
How do we participate, and why?
What are the effects on our lives and landscapes?

The big picture is that we just don't know.

              PARTICIPATION IN
           Find the web survey at

We're renewing the relationship between permaculture and
scientific research - and we need your help. This survey
is one of the first attempts to systematically answer these questions.

Please contribute your time and perspective by going to the web
address above and filling out the survey. It doesn't matter if you
are a new student or an old hand - all are welcome. In the ~25
minutes it will take, you can help strengthen our understanding
of where permaculture is at, and where it's going.
