Dear friends,

This May 22-24 and May 29-31, we will be hosting veteran permaculture lecturer Larry Santoyo , for 2 weekend workshops "Eco Urbanism and the future of sustainability".
Larry is the vice president of the Permaculture Institute (USA) and one of the most experienced permaculture instructors in the US. He is also a world renown lecturer in the World Wide Sustainability Movement.
In this workshop we will be turning our art farm here in Brooklyn into an urban permaculture test site and think tank in real time. We will be applying permaculture design principles to food, water, energy systems as well as community and integrate them relative to our environment here or any densely populated areas.
This workshop is suitable for artists, activists, city gardeners as well as anyone interested in permaculture but have a hard time finding time and space, a precious resource here in NYC.
We will learn how to turn any urban backyard into a food forest, water harvest, solar energy and learn how to container garden in any urban setting. Most important, you will walk away with very useful life skills to apply to any material or non material needs and will provide real insight if you are planning to start an intentional community of your own.

"The future of sustainability is in our cities and towns.Urban neighborhoods are ideal for the promise and potentials of permaculture design. Our cities embody the greatest concentration of the social, intellectual and physical resources needed to create a sustainable future" Larry Santoyo
