We are two women (ages 24 and 27) starting a collective home in
Brooklyn. Some of the things we like include permaculture, herbalism,
gardening, meditation, yoga, playing music, art, writing, anarchism,
feminism, and riding bikes. We are queer friendly. We want to create a
safe, nurturing home in the midst of city living where we could
collaborate on projects and mutually inspire each other.
We have found a home in Prospect Heights, close to the Brooklyn
museum, the botanical gardens, and Prospect Park. The house has 4 or 5
bedrooms (if someone is okay living in a very small room), a nice
living room (where there will be a piano!), a kitchen, 2 bathrooms
(one with bathtub), and there is outdoor space to garden and grow
herbs and a beautiful community garden is just 2 doors down! Rooms
range between[masked], with the smaller one closer to 400 (TBD). You
will need first month and last month rent.
We are planning on buying food from the park slope co-op and maybe a
local CSA (as well as growing our own, and dumpstering food). One of
us is a vegetarian. We want to buy food communally and engage in house
meals, potlucks, movie nights, skill-shares, discussions, ocassional
dance parties, whatever you want! We like open direct non violent
communication and active listening.
We are looking to fill this home fast so that we can move in by Oct
1st. Please contact if you are also looking to start a sustainable
living situation and feel free to forward this on. We are looking for
2 or 3 people.
