This is pretty much Node.JS, and YES there are things that appear when you code in Node.JS. (I'm joking, hopefully)

This week we're going to be having Zahid Mahir present an Introduction to Node.JS. We're going to be going through the fundamentals of Node.JS and understand the underlying structure, and write some awesome code with it!

If you don't know about Node.JS - Node.JS is a language that was designed for scalable server-side web and networking applications. It's doing Javascript on the server-side, which basically means you're running your web server by writing and using tools in pure Javascript. There is a majority of individuals who use it because they enjoy the consistency in using Javascript both for the client-side and the server-side, which means they enjoy using it both for the server and for the front-end. Node.JS is a great tool to learn! There are many cool applications, and it's also alot of fun to play around with!

Zahid Mahir is an incredible programmer who currently works at Elephant Ventures. He studied at Pace University and since then he has been developing and working on hacking Node.JS. We're delighted to have him give us an introduction to how Node.JS works and some of the fundamental concepts behind it.
